All hell broke loose in the third period of the Battle of Ontario.
There is no love lost between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators and that was once again on full display on Saturday night as the two intraprovincial rivals went head to head on Saturday night.
The matchup, which is known among fans as the Battle of Ontario, was once again a heated one with tempers finally boiling over in the third period when two familiar foes clashed yet again. It was Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz and Senators forward Ridley Greig who once again sparked this off after a brief clash in front of the Maple Leafs net proved to be the spark for an all out brawl.
It was Stolarz who kicked things off by going after Greig after Greig had taken a whack at the puck a little too late for Stolarz's liking. Stolarz went to maul Greig for his gesture but it was at that moment that all hell would break loose and players on both teams began trading blows.
There was a lot of pushing and shoving but there were definitely players throwing bombs as well, with the NHL officials on the ice needing several moments to get the situation under control.

This is hardly the end for either of these teams as well with two more matchups on the schedule between these two rivals still to come this season. The Maple Leafs will travel to Ottawa in late March and will do so again in mid April for the final two meetings of the season between these two teams.
