Gretzky: One of the greatest moves I've seen in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

It's hard to imagine a better compliment.

On Saturday night, Florida Panthers forward Aleksander Barkov received what may go down as the greatest compliment of his hockey career when Wayne Gretzky himself commented on his outstanding performance in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final.

The Great One was stunned at a game-tying goal scored by Barkov and made no effort to hide it when he was asked about the reaction he had initially had to seeing the goal live. That reaction, according to Gretzky's co-host, was stunned disbelief.

"We've all seen guys go through the legs now right?" began Gretzky. "It's become kind of an art, a lot of guys try it and a lot of guys do it. But to see him in a Stanley Cup playoff game, under the gun in a pressure situation down one nothing, to make that move... that's one of the greatest moves I've seen in the Stanley Cup playoffs."

As you might expect, having a guy literally known in his sport as "The Great One" pay you that high of a compliment is going to be a pretty big deal for a young hockey player. Barkov's initial reaction upon learning what Gretzky had said about his goal was simply priceless, and thankfully it was caught on video.
