The Canadiens and Penguins have revealed the lineups that will go head to head.
The Montreal Canadiens and the Pittsburgh Penguins will clash on Monday when they face off in preseason action, and now both teams have unveiled the rosters that we will see in action later today.
As you might expect at this stage of the preseason we won't be seeing the full rosters in action just yet, with both teams leaving several of their starters on the sideline as they continue to prepare for the upcoming 2025-26 National Hockey League regular season. Despite that, there are some notable names that will be worth watching later tonight.
We will take a look at the Canadiens roster first since we know how their line combinations and defensive pairings have been set up for tonight's game.
Forwards:
Laine-Kapanen-Demidov
Anderson-Evans-Gallagher
Farrell-Beck-Mesar
Davidson-Belzile-Condotta
Defensemen:
Matheson-Dobson
Struble-Engstrom
Del Gaizo-Clurman
Goalies:
Montembeault
Fowler
As I mentioned there are some big names being left off the roster, perhaps most notably that of captain Nick Suzuki, but the Canadiens will be bringing out several stars including Patrik Laine, Ivan Demidov and the newly acquired Noah Dobson.
The Penguins have released their full lineup for tonight's game although it is still unclear how exactly the line combinations and pairings will work out. This being the preseason however, there's a good chance we will see some mixing and matching, especially with newly minted Penguins head coach Dan Muse trying to get a good look at his new team.
Here is the full lineup:

Robby Fabbri
Boko Imama
Joona Koppanen
Tommy Novak
Sam Poulin

Defensemen:

Goalies:

The Penguins are leaving much of their regular roster on the sidelines today with some big absences including Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Bryan Rust, Erik Karlsson and even goaltender Tristan Jarry.
On paper this looks like a bit of a one sided affair but we will have to wait and see how this one plays out later tonight.
