This would be unfortunate.

The good news for the Montreal Canadiens is that their game tonight against the Dallas Stars is expected to be played. However, the bad news is that the players and rest of the members of the team who traveled to Texas may not be able to make it back home in time to celebrate Christmas with their families.

As you know, a major winter storm in the northeast region of the US and Canada has already forced the NHL to postpone a handful of games.

Per reporter Luc Gélinas on Twitter:

"Tout indique que le match de vendredi aura lieu à Dallas. Mais des discussions se déroulent actuellement avec la LNH car le CH craint de ne pas être en mesure de rentrer à Montréal dans la nuit du 23 au 24 pour revenir fêter Noël en famille."

Translated:

"Everything indicates that Friday's game will take place in Dallas. But discussions are currently taking place with the NHL because the CH fears not being able to return to Montreal on the night of the 23rd to the 24th to come back to celebrate Christmas with the family."
