Habs defenseman Kaiden Guhle undergoes emergency surgery
Whoa! All the best to the young blueliner in his recovery.
This just in, the Montreal Canadiens have announced that defenseman Kaiden Guhle has undergone emergency surgery to remove his appendix.
The 22 year old blue liner will be re-assessed in a week's time, but don't be surprised if he misses the majority of training camp while he recovers. Guhle had a breakout campaign with the Habs last season, scoring six goals and 22 points in 70 games. He's projected to play on the team's top defensive pairing alongside Mike Matheson this season, so hopefully this set back doesn't disrupt the team's plans too much.
Alongside top prospect Lane Hutson and fellow 22 year old Justin Barron, Guhle represents part of an emerging young defensive corps for the bleu, blanc et rouge.
