Is Max Pacioretty's time with the Montreal Canadiens over?

Former NHL scout Grant McCagg, who now works for recrutes.ca, seems to believe it is. He suggested that Habs' general manager Marc Bergevin should trade his captain as soon as he can while he is still worth something. Here's exactly what he said:

1/ I respect what Pacioretty has done for the #Habs & his conduct and maturity as captain. When I say trade him, it is for these reasons - at some point a player starts to go downhill, & it's quite possible that time has come for Max. Deal him while there is still decent value

He has a good contract if one looks at his past..& another team can always hope that he breaks out of his bad slump and regains his scoring touch. He's always been streaky..so there's still good value based on hope. Personally..I think he may well be on the slide production-wise

3/ the other part of this is that Max has NEVER had a center with the passing/stickhandling talents of Drouin. Given that he played at least 20 games with him and every first power play the first 25...if he wasn't on the decline he should have 12-15 goals minimum. He doesn't.

We reported multiple times over the past few days that Pacioretty has been underperforming. That is a fact. But does that mean he needs to be dealt away?
