It’s payback time!

Earlier today, it seemed like the list of preferred players prepared by the Montreal Canadiens ahead of the 2019 draft was made public by mistake…

What happened is that the Canadiens recently released a video revealing to their fans what happened behind the scenes with prior and during the annual draft. However, at one point during the video, [a Reddit user managed to stop the footage and revealed what seemed to be a ranking of young prospects set by the team](http://www.reddit.com/r/Habs/comments/cvpijr/habs_draft_list_revealed/) .

While the quality of the image was not the best, it was possible to identify, in order, the names of Jack Hughes, Kappo Kakko, Trevor Zegras, Bowem Byram, Alex Turcotte, Peyton Krebs, Matthew Boldy, Vasili Podkolzin, Kirby Dach, Cole Caufield and Moritz Seider.

It would therefore mean that the Canadiens made a huge mistake picking Caufield ahead of Krebs, who was selected later in 17th place by the Vegas Golden Knights. The Habs were however aware that Krebs had undergone surgery to fix a partial tear to an Achilles tendon, which may have influenced the team’s decision in the hours leading to their pick.

The Habs wanted to let that Reddit user know that he was the one who made the mistake. Later on Tuesday, they made a post on Twitter, showing a list similar to the one in the video that however says that the Canadiens did not do their draft list by hand!

They even add the words: Can’t believe this to make sure to mock the user who started the rumour that they made a huge mistake.

You gotta love their reply!
