EDITOR'S NOTE: We have to include this update, based on the crazy finish we just witnessed in Montreal this evening. Read below for our earlier report on this game and an absolutely brutal penalty on Montreal Canadiens defenseman Lane Hutson.

Read directly below for Cole Caufield's late game heroics.

Cole Caulfield must be living rent-free in Bill Guerin's head these days.

Caulfield, the Montreal Canadiens forward who was snubbed by Guerin for Team USA's Olympic roster, once again performed some late game heroics and this time he did it right in Guerin's face.

Late in the 3rd period of a tie game tonight against the Wild, Caulfied potted the game winner with just 15 seconds left on the clock and with Guerin himself watching from the press box.

Check it out:

And if Guerin somehow missed it... the Habs' social media account made sure he'd see it.

The ended up tagging USA Hockey in their highlight clip of the goal.

Check it out:

Savage.

I love it.

Sometimes NHL officials see things on the ice that... well... that aren't real at all.

Tonight, Montreal Canadiens defenseman Lane Hutson got to experience that first hand.

Hutson was called for a trip on Minnesota Wild forward Marcus Foligno despite the fact that his stick and his body was nowhere near Foligno. In fact, Foligno simply tripped over the blueline.

Check it out:

Hutson was in disbelief and Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis absolutely lost his mind on the officials.

Honestly, that's a more subdued reaction than I would have in that scenario. The Habs were up a goal late in the 2nd period when this call was made.

Yeesh...

You know it's a bad call when the official comes over to the penalty box to apologize...
