The Chicago Blackhawks, and more specifically general manager Stan Bowman, have never hesitated to replace players they feel are asking for too much money, just ask Columbus Blue Jackets forward Brandon Saad, so this story shouldn't come as much of a surprise.

According to a report from Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times, Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw, who is set to be a restricted free agent on July 1st, has made a big time contract demand, reportedly asking for an average annual value of $4.5 million .

As a result Lazerus reports that "moving him might be more realistic than Kruger" and has speculated that the Florida Panthers could be a potential destination. Lazerus did not state what the Blackhawks could be hoping to get in exchange by swapping Shaw, but there have been rumors that Florida's Dimitri Kulikovis available.
