Tyler Motte is one of the most inspirational rookies to make the Chicago Blackhawks roster this year.

He was warned that leaving his college team early for a chance to skate with the Blackhawks was a mistake and that he wouldn't be ready.

Motte took the chance and it turned out to be one of the best choices he has made for his career as a professional hockey player.

His inspiration to play hockey at a young age comes from his brother C. J. Motte who is currently a goaltender for the Quad City Mallards in the ECHL.

He wanted to do everything his brother was doing and that is how Tyler got into hockey. In fact, he initially wanted to be a goalie just like his brother but his parents convinced him otherwise so he ended up a forward.

Lucky for us, because Tyler Motte is turning out to be a great addition to the team with an assist during his first match with the Blackhawks.

Watch Tyler Motte hit the ice with Artem Anisimov and Patrick Kane, for the first game on the road for the Blackhawks versus the Nashville Predators tonight at 8:00 p.m. (ET).
