Head coach rips his star forward for excessive celebration.

Patrick Roy isn't a fan of his players celebrating while getting blown out.

The fiery Colorado Avalanche head coach ripped his team's leading scorer Matt Duchene, after he scored his 30th goal of the season. At the time of the goal, the Avs' were down by a score of 4-0, and his elation at the milestone was not appreciated by Roy.

"The thing I have a bit of a hard time with is the reaction of (Duchene) after he scores," Roy said at his postgame scrum. "It's a 4-0 goal. Big cheer. Are you kidding me? What is that? It's not the (reflection) that we want from our guys. Not at all."

Roy continued to tear into his players, questioning the team's leaders. He was unhappy about forward Mikkel Boedker scramble to collect the 30-goal puck for Duchene.

For his part, Duchene was less than pleased after the game, despite reaching his milestone.

"(The playoffs) is all we care about, all I care about," he said. "Obviously it's a nice milestone, but I'm not thinking about it at all right now. I'm just very disappointed about this loss tonight."

The Avalanche are in the midst of a tight race for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Colorado has lost five of their last six games, but remain in the race with the Minnesota Wild. The Wild have lost three straight games themselves, leaving both teams close in the standings.
