Head of Canadian NHL franchise has just threatened to move his team.

The owner of a Canadian franchise has committed what amounts to blasphemy in Canada, he has threatened to move his National Hockey League franchise out of the city.

In a recent interview on Sportsnet radio, Calgary Flames CEO and President Ken King made some shocking statements. Here's what he had to say:

"There would be no threat to move, we would just move, and it would be over. And I'm trying my level best to make sure that day never comes, frankly," King said as per the CBC.

"If people smarter than us in more powerful positions than ours don't feel that we're a critical piece of the social, economic and cultural part of our city, then who are we to argue with that?"

The last NHL team to move out of Canada was welcomed back with open arms, however should the Flames in fact pack their bags and leave, the proud people of Calgary may not be so welcoming should they ever choose to return.
