Last Thursday, Nashville Predators’ Pekka Rinne became the 12th goaltender in NHL history to be credited with a goal.

Goalies across the league were excited for the veteran player, but also inspired to attempt and pull the same feat.

That’s why on Tuesday night, as his Winnipeg Jets lead 3-0 over the Vancouver Canucks with minutes to go in the third period, Connor Hellebuyck decided to take a shot at the empty net.

As the puck made its way towards his net, Hellebuyck skated over a couple of feet outside his crease and went for the empty cage on the other side of the ice.

He was however completely shut down by the Canucks, who weren’t looking to get scored on by a goalie on top of everything else!

Check it out:

The Jets still managed to score an empty-netter to get the 4-0 over the Canucks, however, it was Kyle Connor who was credited with the goal, his second tally of the night.

Nice try, Hellebuyck!
