There have been a lot of rumblings that National Hockey League organizations aren't thrilled about the five-day bye week that has been mandated by the NHL and NHL Players' Association but nothing quite like this.

On Wednesday Philadelphia Flyers general manager Ron Hextall was asked for his thoughts on the whole situation, and he absolutely blasted both the league and the NHLPA's decision to implement the bye week.

"Most asinine thing I've ever seen," said Hextall as per Rob Parent of the Delaware County Daily Times.

It's unclear what exactly NHL teams' hate about it so much, but one theory is that it makes the already tight schedule caused by the World Cup this season even more unbearable, and perhaps unnecessarily so.

If the previous rumblings and now Hextall's very public comments are any indicator, opponents of the bye week are getting vocal about their displeasure.
