The Pittsburgh Penguins are entering a rebuilding phase and fans have been wondering if captain Sidney Crosby will stay on board as the boat keeps sinking.

Well, according to Crosby’s own former teammate Georges Laraque, who is now a radio host in Montreal, the Penguins superstar could end up getting moved.

Minutes before Round 1 of the NHL Draft on Friday night, Laraque posted this and got a lot of people talking:

“I’m hearing there’s a very good chance that Crosby will play somewhere else…

Crosby has however extended his contract to 2027 and many fans and pundits do no expect him to leave the Penguins. His loyalty to the team has been mentioned every single time a trade rumour has come up.

Chatter has however linked him to both the Montreal Canadiens and Colorado Avalanche.

So who knows…

However, later in the night on the Draft floor, Penguins insider Rob Rossi revealed that he received a text message from Crosby's agent, Pat Brisson, who called the chatter on his client moving from the Penguins "baseless rumours."
