The Detroit Red Wings earned a big win on Thursday against the Boston Bruins, one of the best teams in the league. The win was essential to rebuilding the Wings' confidence after going 1-11-1 in their previous 13 games.

Today, the Wings host the Vegas Golden Knights at 5 PM. Detroit will undoubtedly be looking to get a second consecutive win for the first time since the very start of the season.

The story of the game against Boston was Robby Fabbri's debut as a Wing. The 24 year-old winger scored two goals on the power play. Not only is a bit of offense coming from elsewhere than Detroit's usual suspects, Bertuzzi, Larkin and Mantha, very welcome, the fact that Fabbri scored on the power play is quite encouraging. The Red Wings were looking for a way to fix their power play that has been terrible so far this season.

It won't come as a surprise that Fabbri is staying put on the second offensive line alongside Valtteri Filppula and Andreas Athanasiou ahead of today's game. In fact, coach Blashill made little to no modifications to his lineup.

That means that the young and promising Taro Hirose will be a healthy scratch for a second consecutive game tonight. Some fans may consider such a decision to be a waste of an opportunity to develop Hirose, seeing as the wings are a rebuilding team.

Jonathan Bernier will once gain start in front of the net for Detroit after having played a great game against Boston.

Here is what the Red Wings' lineup should look like for this afternoon's game against Vegas according to NHL.com correspondent Dave Hogg:

Forwards:

Tyler Bertuzzi - Dylan Larkin - Anthony Mantha

Robby Fabbri - Valtteri Filppula - Andreas Athanasiou

Brendan Perlini - Frans Nielsen - Adam Erne

Darren Helm - Christoffer Ehn - Justin Abdelkader

Defensemen:

Patrik Nemeth - Filip Hronek

Madison Bowey - Mike Green

Dylan McIlrath - Dennis Cholowski

Goaltenders:

Jonathan Bernier

Jimmy Howard

Taro Hirose and defenseman Alex Biega will be healthy scratches tonight, while veterans Luke Glendening, Danny DeKeyser and Trevor Daley are out with injuries.

The Vegas Golden Knights are coming off 2 consecutive losses and will come out hungry.

The game will be an opportunity for the Red Wings to prove they can beat the very best teams in the NHL.
