On Saturday we learned that Calgary Flames assistant general manager Chris Snow's courageous and tragic battle with ALS had sadly come to an end, and it quickly became clear just how many people were touched by Chris' incredible bravery.

Although Chris' passing is truly heartbreaking, the outpouring of love from members of the hockey community has been beautiful to see and speaks to the legacy he leaves behind and the lasting impact he has had on the lives of many, many, members of that very same community.

Here are just a few examples:

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad treliving, who worked closely with Chris Snow during their time together within the Flames organization, flew out to be with the Snow family after Chris' condition deteriorated this week and was clearly deeply affected by his passing.

We of course saw a statement from the Calgary Flames organization.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman released the following statement.

There were reactions from numerous NHL players including the boys over at Spittin Chiclets, Paul Bissonnette and Ryan Whitney.

We saw an outpouring of support from teams all around the National Hockey League, here are only a few examples:

The Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball published a very classy message.

Several members of the hockey media also reacted to the terrible news, again just a few examples:

And I will leave you with a lovely sentiment from ESPN's Jeff Passan, who chose to showcase that, despite his struggles with ALS, Chris never lost his sense of humor.
