This may very well be the most unbelievable hockey story of 2016, it's so over the top that at first read it seems almost impossible to believe.

To set the stage, two women reported a man who has only been described as a "professional hockey player" to police after an incident that occurred in a nightclub in Ostersund, Sweden. These two women claim that they were sexually assaulted by the individual, more specifically the women stated he had groped their breast.

According to a translation of the original report in the Telegraph, the charges against the player have since been dropped, but it's the reason the lead investigator, Mikael Lundberg, gave to explain the sudden end to his investigation that has caused so much outrage.

“It’s pertinent in this case that the women had gigantic breasts,” said Lundberg as per Expressen.

“It wasn’t hard to brush up against them. If you’re drunk and draping yourself over someone, well, you can see how it might have happened.”

This would be a terrible reason to dismiss such claims if they were made by a single woman, but the fact that two different women are claiming they were both assaulted here makes this explanation seem even more outlandish than normal.

Needless to say there has been serious backlash against Lundberg for his comments who is now attempting to deny his original statements which leave very little room for misinterpretation.

“I never said that breast size had any significance,” he told Aftonbladet. “Never.”

This one sounds like it's far from over.
