It's safe to say that Detroit Red Wings defenseman Mark Pysyk most likely won't be suiting up this year for the team after all.
Pysyk, who was signed from the Buffalo Sabres to a free agent contract as part of general manager Steve Yzerman's busy offseason shopping spree, has re-injured his Achilles tendon that he had spent the last several months rehabbing following surgery in July.
Originally selected with the 23rd pick in the 2010 NHL Draft by the Sabres, Pysyk has also spent time with the Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars before agreeing to a free-agent deal with Detroit during the summer. His original recovery timetable was slotted to be between four and six months.
