Horrific on-ice attack that leaves teenager with a fractured jaw results in a year long suspension.

We have received new details regarding an incredibly disturbing incident that took place earlier this week, including some truly horrific photos of the damage that was done to the young man involved in this incident.

The update comes to us courtesy of Swedish outlet Aftonbladet, and again I must warn our readers that the images you are about to see are not for the faint of heart and depict some very serious damage done to this young man.

In what the outlet describes as "a scandal that is unparalleled in Swedish hockey" 19 year old Kid Andersson was the victim of a horrific on-ice assault after he instigated the exchange by squirting water on his opponent. Andersson, who was sitting on the bench, squirted an opposing player, who was on the ice at the time, with his water bottle but the reaction that followed was an escalation of unreal proportions.

The opposing player, who has not been named, reportedly lifted his stick and swung it full force at Andersson in relation for the squirt. The stick connected flush with Andersson's face, fracturing his jaw in multiple places and knocking out several of his teeth and as you will see from some of these images there was blood everywhere as a result of the attack.

"Everything went so fast that I did not have time to react. I did not even know what had happened, but just saw that there was blood everywhere. Then I vomited and did not feel well at all. I did not know where I was going to go," said Andersson as per Aftonbladet.

The incident occurred during an under 20 game and I suspect that the identity of the opposing player may have been kept under wraps because of his age. Regardless of this it seems the penalties he will be facing will be severe and will extend far beyond the sport of hockey. The player has been banned for all of 2022 but reports indicate that the police are now involved in this matter and it is hard to believe that he won't be charged for what can only be described as a horrific assault on a teenager.

First here is a look at some of the damage that was left behind, again if you have a weak stomach now is the time to look away. This first photo shows the sheer amount of blood that Andersson lost while still on the bench, and remember this is all from a slash to the face.

The carnage was also clearly visible on his jersey, which is shown in the photo below:

Now we get to the truly horrifying stuff. As you can see from the current state of his mouth, Andersson's teeth were completely destroyed as a result of this outrageous attack. You can see that there is an incredible amount of swelling on his face.

Last but certainly not least, you can see the damage that has been done to his face following the attack. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that his face was quite literally torn open by the slash.

This is one case where I sincerely hope both the league and the law will make the person behind this attack fully accountable for his actions.
