Former NHLer, turned NHL GM, turned NHL broadcaster Mike Milbury was a guest on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast earlier today and, honestly, he was a riot
I'll admit that I haven't always been the biggest Milbury fan. I grew up in the 1980s and 1990s so I never got a chance to see Milbury in action, but I did see him as a GM with the New York Islanders and... well... it wasn't pretty. I also wasn't really a fan of his work on NBC as a broadcaster, but I digress.
Today though Milbury won me over as a fan.
The gregarious hockey lifer shared a ton of incredible insider stories with the Spittin' Chiclets crew, but none stood out quite like this one concerning his former Boston Bruins teammate Bobby Orr:
Wow... just another reason to despise Alan Eagleson, I guess...
I mean, I can't imagine how many millions of dollars Orr would have earned in the decades since that offer was put in front of him. Imagine if Orr had earned so much off his 18% ownership that he was able to buy more and more of the team and eventually pry it away from Jeremy Jacbobs' skeletal hands.
