Insider’s latest rumblings indicate that things aren’t looking good for the forward in Toronto.
There is just to much to do in Toronto this summer. New Maple Leafs general manager has so much on his plate that Chris Johnston believes one player will pay for this. On last night’s edition of Insider Trading on TSN, Johnston explained how Treliving has a lot on his plate right now and there a chance it can cause some issues with forward Michael Bunting.
Bunting scored 23 goals with 26 assists this season with the Leafs, which was the final year of the two-year, $1.9 million deal he signed. And his next contract is projected to be considerably larger. That’s the issue.
Treliving needs to decide what he is willing to invest in Bunting, who could just walk away and test the free agency with the right to negotiate with any team in the league.
He might just do that to get the kind of money he is looking for. It may be bye bye Toronto after all.
