It sounds like the Montreal Canadiens are currently discussing a trade deal with the Minnesota Wild.
According to a report from TSN insider Bob McKenzie, the Wild are "the team to watch" right now as they look to move 23-year-old veteran defenseman Jonas Brodin. McKenzie specifically noted that Brodin is the type of defenseman currently being targetted by the Montreal Canadiens.
However according to FanRag's Chris Nichols, McKenzie has also added that there are other rival teams in the mix for Brodin at this time.
"Montreal is by no means the only team in on Jonas Brodin," said McKenzie.
The NHL trade freeze goes into effect on Saturday, and there's a belief that the Wild will be moving him before that freeze one way or another.
