While no official date has been set for a return, there is a sense that goalie Carey Price could be making his season debut on Saturday against the Washington Capitals.
That’s because it has been reported on Tuesday that the Montreal Canadiens have placed forward Jonathan Drouin on long-term injured reserve, therefore creating enough cap space to activate Price for a return before the end of the regular season calendar. Drouin has been out of the lineup since March 21st.
It was then rumoured that Price would not return tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets, but there is more and more chatter that he could be the starting goalie for Saturday’s matchup against the Capitals. Some say his comeback could happen on Friday, in Montreal, as the Habs face the visiting New York Islanders on Good Friday.
And while this is a huge update in a saga that has lasted all season long, fans are too busy making fun of the fact that Price, also nicknamed Jesus Price, could be coming back - resurrecting - on Easter weekend.
