Huge update on injured Predators captain Mike Fisher.

The Nashville Predators were decimated up the middle during the Western Conference Final, but for the first time in several days there were positive signs from the Predators on Wednesday.

General manager David Poile spoke to NHL.com correspondant Robby Stanley and provided an update on Nashville Predators captain Mike Fisher, and while Poile would not officially commit to a return for Fisher, he indicated that he expected him back for the Stanley Cup Final.

"I think there's a real good chance of that," Poile said Wednesday. "I'm pretty sure you'll see him on the ice [at practice Thursday], so let's just give that a couple of days. But I'm optimistic that he will be available."

While Fisher's absence alone would make a potential return important for the Predators, when you also add the fact that star center Ryan Johansen is done for the season, a return for Fisher is that much more important to the team's chances of success.
