Huge update on Matthew Knies ahead of Game 7.
The Maple Leafs get big news regarding Matthew Knies ahead of their biggest game of the season.
The Toronto Maple Leafs appear to be the receiving end of some good news ahead of tonight's Game 7 against the Florida Panthers. The Maple Leafs have just hit the ice for their morning skate and one of the most notable things about the players assembled on the ice today is the presence of forward Matthew Knies.
Knies suffered a painful looking injury in Game 6 when an attempt at a hit on Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola went terribly wrong. Knies came in for the hit and appeared to take the brunt of the impact on his hip, something that left him in considerable pain on the Maple Leafs bench.
In the end Knies would be limited to just 13 minutes in the game and that left many wondering if he would even be available come Game 7. Thankfully for the Maple Leafs it now appears that he will indeed be ready to go judging by his presence on the ice this morning.
For those concerned about the injury, he seemed to be moving relatively well as you can see in the video below:
There's been no official word from the Maple Leafs regarding Knies just yet but, given his presence on the ice and the way practice has unfolded thus far, it does appear as though the Leafs will be able to count on him tonight.
