Huge update on Radulov is bad news for Habs fans.

The Montreal Canadiens may not get what they wanted after all.

Since the end of the 2016-2017 National Hockey League season, we have heard multiple rumors that have suggested the negotiations between the Canadiens and Russian superstar Alexander Radulov have not been going well, and now just hours away from free agency, we have more bad news to report.

TSN insider Pierre LeBrun is now reporting that the Habs and Radulov remain far apart on a deal, and it doesn't sound like things are likely to change any time soon.

"The bottom line is this: if he wants six-to-seven years, it's not happening in Montreal," said LeBrun as per Chris Nichols.

According to LeBrun negotiations between Radulov and the Habs are "absolutely not closer at all," and furthermore Radulov's representation is fielding offers from rival teams.

This relationship may be over.
