Hungarian player's ridiculous celly sends him right through the glass!

You've gotta see it to believe it.

Alright I have to admit this is one of the coolest things I've seen all year, this in spite of the fact that it was clearly a little silly.

The Hungarian Hockey account on Instagram has published a series of photos and videos that quite honestly had me dying of laughter on a Monday morning. The video shows the first ever goal scored in the Erste Liga by a young man named Marko Cosllac, and as you would expect Marko was extremely excited about scoring his first goal in his new league.

As is often tradition players will engage in a little celebration following the goal, and in recent years players have worked more and more to make their particular celebrations something of a signature following a goal. In the case of Marko here it was clear that he had taken inspiration from Washington Capitals superstar captain Alex Ovechkin, a player who is known for hurling his body into the protective glass around the arena following a goal. No doubt thinking it would look good to pay homage to his idol, Marko decided to mimic the celebration only to end up with a disastrous result.

Before I get to the video I just wanna show you guys the pictures from this incident, pictures that perfectly capture the moment the glass breaks and best of all the aftermath of the event. Trust me you're going to want to scroll through these ones.

Alright now down to the main event itself. As you can see Marko jumps right up into the glass and goes clean through with very little resistance at all. I'm honestly more than a little surprised he did not end up injuring himself given how he fell and the fact that he fell directly on the exposed cement floor of the arena. As you can see from the pictures above Marko lands upside down on his head and neck, but thankfully it sounds like he walked away from this incident relatively unscathed.

Here is the video of both the goal that preceded his celebration as well as the celebration itself. I don't speak Hungarian and would love to know what these announcers were saying at the time.
