I can't believe this came from an NHL team. Ouch.
The Philadelphia Flyers are having a rough start to the season... and that is putting it mildly. The Flyers have come out of the gate with the worst start in the history of their franchise, recording an 0-5-2 record through the first 7 games of the season.
It got so bad over the weekend that fans even started a chant of "Fire Tocchet" directed at Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet towards the end of their 4-1 loss at the hands of the Carolina Hurricanes.
As if that wasn't bad enough, the Hurricanes decided to add insult to injury when they took to social media to not only roast the Flyers, but all 3 of the major sports franchises in the City of Philly. The National Football League's Philadelphia Eagles and the National Basketball Association's Philadelphia Phillies caught strays as the Hurricanes took aim at the Flyers.
"We've won more games in Philly in the last nine days than the Flyers, Eagles, and Phillies combined this month," wrote the Hurricanes on social media.
Unlike their Metropolitan Division rivals, the Hurricanes are off to an excellent start to the season with a 5-1-1 record through their first seven games and sit at the very opposite end of the Metropolitan Division standings... at the top.
While it isn't a pleasant thing for the Flyers to be sure, this level of disrespect from an opposing team, especially a division rival, could be exactly the kind of motivation they need to help them turn this season around before it's too late.
