The Tampa Bay Lightning were able to rebound and earn a much-needed victory last night in the friendly confines of Amalie Arena in downtown Tampa Bay. Their 5-2 triumph over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers put an end to a season high five game losing skid that had many calling into question their ability to go on another deep postseason run.
But as you may remember, it was head coach Jon Cooper who sent a brutal message to his team's top three players in Steven Stamkos, Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov by benching them for an entire period against the Buffalo Sabres last week. How did they respond? By dropping a 6-0 decision against the Carolina Hurricanes in what was an absolute laugher.
And speaking of comedy, one clever Hurricanes fan decided to add salt to Tampa's wound. The fan edited Tampa's Wikipedia page to say that they enjoyed team building activities and that "the team took a trip to Raleigh to watch a hockey game."
