On Tuesday, we shared how Icethetics reported leaked images of the Calgary Flames’ third jersey for the 2022-23 season, and we knew more information on the new gear for other clubs would come out soon.
However, the news for the Carolina Hurricanes’ fanbase is not as exciting…
According to SportsLogos.net, the Hurricanes are set to make their black third uniform their new primary home set for the upcoming 2022-23 NHL season. This will replace their current red option.
And fans aren’t happy…
When the black uniform first came out in 2018, GM Don Waddell had explained that the club “wanted to modernize our old alternate uniform” while also “incorporating a sense of regional pride,” adding, “we feel we’ve done that with this design.”
However, the fanbase has had some strong opinions about the jersey, with many saying it was not pleasing to the eye, especially when watching games on television. Here are a few reactions from fans about the news:
The season has yet to start and already fans are quite vocal about not linking the jersey. Maybe the Canes will feel the need to adapt throughout the season, especially if sales go down significantly during the 2022-23 calendar.
