Hurricanes take a shot at John Tortorella after winning the Stanley Cup.

The Carolina Hurricanes are officially your 2026 Stanley Cup Champions and it didn't take long before the taunting of their opponents in the Stanley Cup Final began after their huge win on Sunday night.

Leading up to Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, Vegas Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella made some comments that may have inadvertently served as bulletin board material for the Hurricanes. Following a tough loss in Game 5, Tortorella tried to use a little bravado to try and make it clear that his team had no intention of losing on home ice.

"I'm going to leave my clothes here," said Tortorella before heading back to Vegas. "At the hotel. We'll be back."

Of course Tortorella and the Golden Knights won't be back, at least not unless it is to pick up the clothes they've left behind, after being eliminated in 6 games at the hands of the Hurricanes.

I mentioned that the comment caught the eye of people within the Hurricanes' organization and just minutes after they won the Stanley Cup on Sunday night, Tortorella' words would be thrown right back in his face. The Hurricanes, through their official social media platform on X, delivered the following message to Tortorella:

"We'll send them to you," wrote the Hurricanes on X "Might take a few days, though. A little busy."

They will of course be busy celebrating their championship win, one that may have been at least partially fueled by comments from the opposing head coach.
