ICYMI: Auston Matthews charged after exposing himself to female security guard

In case you missed the news yesterday, reports emerged that Toronto Maple Leafs superstar Austin Matthews had been charged with disorderly conduct this past offseason after exposing himself to a female security guard in his hometown of Scottsdale, Arizona.

According to a police report Matthews and his friends attempted to play a prank on the security guard which fell flat at which point Matthews pulled down his pants and “grabbed his rear end.” In other words: he mooned her.

The report says surveillance video shows a male subject walking toward the complex elevators with his pants around his ankles.

Court documents show that Matthews has a court hearing for disorderly conduct in Scottsdale City Court on Wednesday. He will not be in attendance, but it’s expected that his representation will be.

The Leafs, in turn, made a statement following yesterday’s news:

Suffice it to say, this is NOT the kind of distraction the Leafs need heading into a pressure packed season.
