ICYMI: Hickey takes a Malkin slap shot to the head, gets busted wide open

In case you missed it, New York Islanders defenseman Thomas Hickey was involved in a scary incident last night as he took a slap shot to the head from Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Evgeni Malkin.

Hickey received a nasty cut on his face as a result of the shot, but managed to leave the game under his own power.

Amazingly, Hickey would come back to finish the game but it was in vain as the Isles dropped a 2-1 decision to their division rival.
