ICYMI: Joe Thornton scored a hat trick against the Bruins and had the best celly of the 2018-19 season.

It was a pretty good night for old Jumbo Joe, even if the Sharks couldn’t pull off a win.

In case you missed it, the Boston Bruins were in Northern California last night to take on the San Jose Sharks and, as it has been for the past decade , all eyes were on former Bruins first overall pick Joe Thornton all night.

And the Sharks legend didn’t disappoint, even if his team ended up on the losing end of things. The Bruins edged the Sharks 6-5 in overtime, but not before Jumbo Joe himself put up a three spot on his former team.

While the first two goals were opportunist style rebound goals, Jumbo’s third goal on the evening, which signalled his first hat trick in nearly a decade, was a thing of pure beauty.

How can you not love this man? He’s an absolute legend and one of the game’s great characters. Here’s hoping he can end his career off with a much deserved Stanley Cup victory.
