ICYMI: Red Wings make a minor roster move today

In case you missed it, the Detroit Red Wings recalled forward Wade Megan from the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins and assigned rookie defensemen Joe Hicketts to the Griffins, as well.


UPDATE: The Detroit Red Wings today recalled center Wade Megan from the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins and assigned defenseman Joe Hicketts to the @griffinshockey.


Hicketts, the 22 year old defenseman who burst onto the scene with the Griffins in 2016-17, putting up 34 points in his first full season of pro hockey. Last season he managed just 12 points in 67 games with the Griffins and three assists in five games with the Red Wings. He has gone pointless in eight games with the Red Wings so far this season. 

As for Megan, the 28 year old veteran has two goals and four points in eight games with the Griffins so far this season, but managed 11 goals and 33 points in 63 games with the Chicago Wolves (AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues) last season.
