Ilya Samsonov injured and knocked out of Game 3.
The Toronto Maple Leafs number one goaltender has been injured in the third game of the series.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are already in a tough spot in their second round series against the Florida Panthers, and things may have just gotten considerably worse.
Maple Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov appears to have been injured in the opening minute of of the second period after he was run over by his own teammate, Maple Leafs defenseman Luke Schenn.
The Maple Leafs will now be forced to rely on backup goaltender Joseph Woll, a less than ideal situation especially with Woll coming in cold. Unfortunately for the Leafs the Panthers have already capitalized on this unfortunate situation with a power play goal on Woll just minutes after he stepped in to relieve Samsonov.
