Ilya Samsonov injured in the third period.
Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov suffered what looks like a relatively serious injury in the third period.
The Maple Leafs picked up a big win on Saturday night, but it may have come at a terrible cost.
Late in the third period of Saturday's game against the Edmonton Oilers, Maple Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov appeared to suffer a serious looking injury when he stretched out to make a save. Unfortunately for Samsonov Oilers star forward Leon Draisaitl would find the back of the net but, even worse, Samsonov would appear to over-stretch on the play injuring himself in the process.
