Montreal Canadiens' general manager, Marc Bergevin was relieved today.
This morning, journalist Richard Labbé from La Presse, reported that Carey price could be out for a very long period of time. Labbé argued that Price might need surgery on his injured right knee, because of torn ligaments.
Fortunately for Montreal, Price's knee won't knee surgery, but will force the NHL's reigning MVP to miss, at least, the next six weeks. This means, that the Montreal Canadiens will have to play without their number 1 goaltender for a minimum of 21 games. Although the Habs are currently on top of the NHL standings and enjoying a nice cushion in the Eastern conference playoffs race, 21 games without, arguably, the best hockey player in the world, is no small task.
Rumours began to swirl in Montreal, that Marc Bergevin is looking for another goaltender to either backup Mike Condon, or at least share the net with the Boston native. Anaheim Ducks' Anton Kudhobin's name has been mentioned frequently. The latter played extremely well in Carolina the past couple of years behind Cam Ward, almost getting the starting job at Ward's expense.
