An infamous former National Hockey League forward added to his growing legacy of criminality this week when he found himself placed under arrest in his home state of Massachusetts.

A report from the Times Leader has revealed that former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Billy Tibbetts was once again arrested this week for allegedly violating the conditions of a protective order against him. Tibbetts, who also had brief stints as a member of the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers, was issued the protective order stemming from previous allegations of harassment.

A warrant had been issued for Tibbetts arrest all the way back on February 4th, with a judge in the state of Massachusetts issuing the warrant, although Tibbetts was arrested at a Red Roof Inn in Plains Township, a township in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

Tibbetts was subsequently released on $25,000 bail.

Tibbetts has had an extensive criminal history that includes some truly heinous charges. On March 30th in 1994, Tibbetts pled guilty to raping a 15 year old girl when he was 17 years old as per the CBC. A few months later on April 27th of 1994 he would receive a suspended sentence of six months and 18 months probation for charges of assault and battery on police officer, disorderly conduct and intimidating a witness. In 1995 Tibbetts was sentenced to two and a half years in prison when he was found guilty of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Since his NHL career came to an end Tibbetts has been arrested multiple time for various offenses including leading police on a high speed chase in 2007 as per Boston.com.

Given Tibbetts' lengthy rap sheet, there's no telling what type of sentence he may be facing over this latest arrest.
