The injury bug has once again bitten the Minnesota Wild, and there's no apparent timetable as to when this particular ailment will be resolved. According to head coach Dean Evason, Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin woke up this morning with an unspecified injury that was significant enough to make him unavailable for tonight's game against the division rival Edmonton Oilers.

“He actually didn’t know he had (the injury) until he woke up,” Evason said. “He was sick prior, and this happened in the game; then when he woke up, he was in pain obviously and had it looked at.”

“I don’t know,” Evason said when asked how much time Brodin is expected to miss. “It’s not as bad, I guess, as we anticipated. He will not play in tonight’s game. The plan is to bring him on the road, though, so that’s positive for us.”

In Brodin's absence, the Wild have recalled Andrej Sustr from the American Hockey League affiliate Iowa Wild.

In the 19 games that Brodin has skated in his season, he's registered four assists along with a -1 plus/minus rating. He joins a list of Minnesota's walking wounded that include Brandon Duhaime (upper-body injury) and Ryan Hartman (upper-body injury).

The Wild take on the Oilers tonight at XCel Energy Center beginning at 8:00 PM EST .
