Injury Report: Bonino’s status for Game 4

There’s no questioning the determination of Pittsburgh Penguins forward Nick Bonino. The veteran center blocked a shot in the Penguins game 2 victory over the Nashville Predators Wednesday night, and missed game 3 because of it. Despite being in obvious pain and walking through the arena’s hallways in crutches, the gritty forward participated in an optional practice yesterday.

Today, however, Bonino’s condition at Bridgestone Arena is leaving many analysts to speculate that he’ll be out of the lineup for game 4 this evening.

Ouch. That’s not good news for the Pens. With Bonino out of the lineup it’s expected that Carter Rowney will once again play center on the team’s fourth line between Conor Sheary and Scott Wilson. In 21 games this postseason, Bonino has produced four goals and seven assists. His absence on the team’s penalty kill will also be felt.
