Injury report: Getzlaf out with injury

The Anaheim Ducks have been one of the unluckiest teams in the NHL so far, accumulating several injuries to key players. Some have come back, such as Hampus Lindholm, Sami Vatanen, and Ryan Miller, but others like Patrick Eaves, Ryan Kesler, Kevin Bieksa, and Cam Fowler are out long term.

Ryan Getzlaf was out for a few games and returned to action, accumulating 7 points in 6 games.

The team captain suffered yet another injury against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday and was forced to leave the game early. He took a puck to the face and is now being evaluated with an upper-body injury.

If he has a serious injury, the Ducks' season could be in peril early. They are 6-4-1 despite the injuries so they might be able to stay afloat - but losing Getzlaf again could be detrimental to the team's success.
