Despite travelling with the team on their current road trip, Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Andrew MacDonald still has not yet skated since blocking a shot on Oct. 21st against the Edmonton Oilers. He plans to practice with the team today on their off day, however.

The good news is that MacDonald doesn’t anticipate that he’ll need much more time to recover, despite not practicing for three weeks.

“I’ve unfortunately had these types of situations before,” MacDonald said to Dave Isaac of the Courier Post. “Typically, no, it doesn’t take too long. Three weeks of not skating, you’d be surprised how quickly you can get it back. It doesn’t take too much. There’s a process you try to follow and make sure you keep an eye on things and there’s no setbacks.”

Again, while there’s no immediate timetable for MacDonald’s return, don’t be surprised if you see him back in the lineup sooner rather than later.
