The Detroit Red Wings send their #1 goalie Jimmy Howard down to their Grand Rapid AHL team. Howard was suffering from a lower-body injury since Dec. 20 against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Howard (knee) will be the starting goalie on Saturday versus AHL Milwaukee team. He has been sent down in the minors on a conditioning assignment.
