Injury report: Getzlaf placed on IR

The Anaheim Ducks have not been very lucky at the start of the 2017-18 season. They have already been dealing with injuries to Patrick Eaves, Ryan Getzlaf, Ryan Kesler, Cam Fowler, Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen, and then defenseman Kevin Bieksa was added to the list. 

On Tuesday, Ducks head coach Randy Carlyle gave an update of two of the players sitting out with injuries. Bieksa, who suffered a hand injury after hedropped Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas in a brawl on Tuesday, skated today but remains day-to-day. 

He also noted that star forward Getzlaf, who sustained an upper-body injury against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday, is still day-to-day but will miss the rest of the week. He was placed on injured reserve. He will be reevaluated on Monday. 

However, Carlyle does not want anyone to feel sorry for the Ducks...
