Forced from action during the Anaheim Ducks’ 3-1 loss to the Nashville Predators in game 5 of the NHL’s Western Conference Final, John Gibson appears rested and ready to go for tonight’s elimination game at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

The 23 year-old Gibson skated with his teammates during the morning skate today and was the first goaltender off the ice, which is usually an indication that he’ll be the starter.

“When they skate, usually that leads you to believe that there is a great opportunity for him to play,” said head coach Randy Carlyle. “But I haven’t talked to him yet. We’ll wait until he has a conversation with the training staff.”

So there you have it, barring any setbacks from practice, it appears as though Gibson will get the start in goal tonight for the Ducks. One thing’s for sure, the Ducks will need to be better if they expect to extend their series and their season against the Preds tonight. Gameday, baby!
