INJURY UPDATE
Keystone Press

David Backes could’ve been extremely useful in yesterday’s game against the Minnesota Wild. However, he couldn’t participate in the game, as he was dealing an issue.

Earlier today, the media received updates on what is ailing Backes, and it required a small surgery to correct. Per Bruins GM Don Sweeney, "David Backes underwent the removal of the olecranon bursa from his elbow on Monday, October 24. His condition will be updated after the weekend." He is expected to miss two more games (tonight’s game against the Rangers, and Saturday’s game against the Red Wings).

Olecranon Bursa (also known as Olecranon Bursitis) is a condition that’s been characterized with pain, swelling, and restricted movement from the elbow joint. It can happen from one injury to the elbow, or it can occur from many minor ones at the same spot. For more information on this condition, click here.
