In case you missed it earlier this week, NHL insider Frank Seravalli went viral on social media for defending his take on the backlash against Team USA for celebrating their gold medal win with American President Donald Trump.

"If you can’t celebrate an Olympic accomplishment for and by the USA, you are on the wrong side. Period," Seravalli said on Twitter.

Check it out:

Personally, I think Seravalli is being intentionally obtuse with this take. Surely, he must understand why people are triggered by the actions of Team USA, right? Having Kash Patel, the Director of the FBI, celebrating with the team while he's meant to be investigating the largest scandal in American history... a scandal that has the sitting President right front and center. You understand why that's a problem, right Frank?

Well... evidently not.

Seravalli still doesn't get it and he proved as much yesterday on Vancouver's Sportsnet 650 radio during his regular weekly hit on the Halford and Brough Show.

In a nearly 20 minute segment (worth listening to in full here) Seravalli and host Jason Brough argue back and forth on just how things have gotten to this point. It's clear to this writer, that Seravalli just doesn't get it. He's dismissive of criticism of Trump, Patel and Team USA and can't fathom why someone would be bothered by these people's actions.

Again, it's worth listening to the full segment again for some truly delicious drama but the ending of Seravalli's segment deserves particular attention. It's at this point that Seravalli seems to accept defeat and and gets butthurt over people not agreeing with his opinion. Frankly (no pun intended), he sounds a bit pouty and folks online are speculating that he's getting emotional at the end.

I mean, just listen in:

Again, Seravalli just doesn't get it... I don't want to speculate too much on Seravalli's political beliefs but it's clear that he's not too bothered by the allegations made against Trump in the Epstein Files, saying nothing about how Trump and his Administration are running the country.

To say someone not pleased with Team USA partying with the FBI's Director and them endorsing the President at the State of the Union is "on the wrong side. Period." is a ridiculous take in 2026.
