Insider Pierre LeBrun reveals how NHL team executive texted him trade offer by mistake!

We’re all guilty of texting the wrong person at some point. It happens. However, sometimes, it’s bad. Either you sent a nude to the wrong person, or in the case of an NHL team executive, you text an insider a trade you want to make thinking he is the general manager of the Ottawa Senators.

The insider himself recounted the story on Friday when he posted about his latest article on GM Pierre Dorion. As he did, Michael Russo of the Athletic made fun of the Pierre on Pierre angle which prompted LeBrun to reveal this:

“I once got a text message from an NHL front office exec years ago that was meant for Pierre Dorion, regarding a potential trade. I let the exec know he texted the wrong Pierre. Obviously I didn’t say a word of the player offered. The proposed trade never materialized.”

You have to admire LeBrun’s professionalism and the fact that he is not giving away who made the mistake and which player was at the center of this trade that never materialized.

Can you imagine the face of the executive when LeBrun texted him back that he had the wrong Pierre!
